Mixed Bag fundraiser
We’re excited about our new Mixed Bag fundraiser. Together we give back to Viejo & help the environment. Mixed Bag Designs offers colorful bags and accessories that are reusable, recyclable and ridiculously cool. These items would make great Easter, Mother’s Day, and Teacher Appreciation presents.
Our goal this season is $5,000 and we can't make that happen without everyone's support! Help us get us to our goal - it's really easy and we've got some great products this time around! Share the catalog with everyone you know - it has something for everyone!

Celebration Book Club
Would you like to Celebrate your child’s birthday and do something to benefit Viejo?
Well here is a great way to do it, Celebration Book Club!! When you choose a book for $16 from our book list for your child’s special day, they will get to keep the book at home for two weeks and then they will donate the book to the school library. A name plate will be placed in the book to let everyone know who donated the book! Forms are available in the front office.

Box Tops for Education
Box Tops for Education is an easy way for you to help Viejo earn money for school programs, library books and supplies. Just clip Box Tops from participating products, attach them to the forms that your child will bring home from school and turn them in.
We will be running monthly classroom contests. Students can earn; prizes, frozen fruit bar parties, book fair credits, free dress days and more. Please help us earn money for our school using products we already buy! Thanks!!
Cookie Dough Fall Fundraiser
Starting Wednesday, October 3, Viejo Elementary students will be asked to participate in the sale of Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Dough. The Viejo PTA organized this fundraiser to raise money for programs and activities such as Art Masters, Music, purchase of new books for the Viejo School Library, and Class Field Trips. All orders along with money will be due on Monday, October 22nd to your child’s teacher. Cookie dough delivery will be at the end of November or the beginning of December before we break for the holidays (just in time for holiday baking). Nobody can resist an ooey, gooey, fresh-baked cookie-especially when it’s from Otis Spunkmeyer.
If you do not want to sell cookie dough, please consider a donation. Suggested donation amounts: $20, $40, $60 or other amount.
Please email Tamara Bush if you have any questions at: Tamara.ViejoPTA@cox.net

The Book Fair will be open on Monday, October 1st through Friday, October 5th, from 9:00 am – ½ hour after school ends. Please come and support your scholar and your school by purchasing books at our Book Fair! Do you have family members that are out of state? If you would like to help at the Book Fair, please contact Kristien Chavis, kristienbean@msn.com.
Thank you for your continued support of our school!
PTA Reflections
All Viejo students are invited to participate in the PTA Reflections arts program. This fun program encourages students to use the arts to express themselves. Students are asked to address the yearʼs theme through Visual Arts, Photography, Music, Dance, Literature or Filmmaking.
The PTA Reflections Theme for 2012-13 is...
“The Magic of a Moment”
Reflections entries are due by Monday, October 8
Did your child take a trip this summer and capture any magical moments on film or video? Please have them reflect upon their summer memories and write in a journal or write a short story or poem about a magical moment that they experienced. Remember, each entry must be your childʼs original creation – no parent help is allowed in creating the entry. Brainstorm the theme with them, but the idea must be theirs! Note, interpretation of the theme is more important than technique. Most importantly, make it fun! Our emphasis is on participation, and our goal is to get as many students to enter as possible. A student may enter multiple entries in multiple categories (photography, dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition and visual arts).
Entries are due October 8th. For more information about the program, please click here or contact Tanya Yoneda at tlyoneda@yahoo.com. Thank you!
