Welcome Viejo Families!!

The Viejo Elementary teachers and staff would like to welcome you to our website. The primary purpose of our website is to keep you informed about the events and activities that take place at Viejo.

Our staff is eager to work with you to build traditions that will foster and develop a strong sense of pride in our school.  Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) plays a key role in our effort to build a strong school community.  I would strongly encourage you to become a member of our PTA and to participate in this process of developing a strong partnership. Our students benefit from a strong PTA and parent involvement.

Viejo Elementary is a Language Academy with our Two-Way Language Immersion program now in kindergarten through 5th grade.  Our first year Two-Way Language Immersion students have promoted to Newhart Middle School. We are very excited for them and look forward to hearing about their accomplishments in the future.   

Our instructional program is created to provide our students with numerous opportunities to read, write, and speak in English and Spanish in all content areas. We encourage our staff you create integrated units of study in all the content areas that will provide “hands-on” experiences in a team setting. We want our classrooms to mirror the “world of work” where teams of people work together to solve problems and create innovative ideas.

I want to thank each of you for choosing to attend Viejo Elementary. The success of our students and school is dependent on the adults in our school community working together to provide the best educational and interpersonal opportunities for our students.  Our staff is committed to providing a safe, accepting, and challenging environment for all children.
